I’m a big city lover and street art is one of the things I’m always on the lookout for. Hints of color in a grey jungle, funny twists on life, critics on society, ballsy paintings, … Berlin must be the mecca of street art. I particularly like the Kreuzberg area. There is an underground creative vibe in the air that I never felt somewhere else. The art is superb. Some paintings are so big you even see them from a big distance.
You can walk around by yourself, but there is also a ‘street art walking tour & workshop in Berlin‘, organized by Alternative Berlin Tours. It shows you some of the best stencil art , throw ups, mural art , hall of fame´s, paste ups, tagging, ad busting, heaven spots, burners, installations while teaching you who is behind the art and what their motivations are.
I’ve been following the Facebook group “Street art in Germany” for a while. They gather all sorts of awesome artwork, mostly from German cities. These are some of my favorites.
